Law officers investigating several threats and the attempted fire bombing of a Carson City judge's home raised the award amount and released a photo of the mailing envelope that was sent to the residence in which the Christmas card inside said "You will die."
In December 2014, Carson City Justice of the Peace Judge Tatro and his wife received the card addressed to his home. The Carson City Sheriff’s Office has released a photograph of the Christmas card envelope in hopes of identifying the sender. The name of the sender was listed as Jake Jacobsen. Detectives believe Jake Jacobsen is a fake name.
The author of the envelope has a unique style of handwriting and the envelope is addressed in a unique way, said Carson City Sheriff's Lt. Brian Humphrey. The photograph of the envelope has been released in hopes that someone will recognize the style of writing or address.
Both the addresses on the envelope had the address numbers followed by a hyphen and then the street name. This investigation is on-going with assistance from numerous other agencies. For the latest information and clues in the case, the public can go to Carson.org/tips. Or call:
