Man shot twice in the legs at Airport Road residence; suspect in custody

UPDATE: The suspect in a shooting of a 71-year-old victim in a domestic dispute Friday night has been identified as Andrew Seth Harris, 47, of Carson City. The suspect was initially identified by officers on scene as female. It was determined during the investigation the suspect is legally a man.

The victim was taken by Care Flight after being shot in both legs. They are expected to recover. The suspect admitted to the shooting after a domestic dispute, according to the arrest report. Harris has been charged with battery with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm to a victim over 60 years of age and misdemeanor domestic battery first offense and remains in custody in an independent jail cell. Bail: $35,137.

A woman was taken into custody Friday night after allegedly shooting a man in both legs during an argument at a Carson City mobile home complex on Airport Road, authorities said.

Care Flight was called to take the man to Renown Medical Center in Reno. The injuries appear to be non life threatening. The shooting took place in the victim's home. He was conscious and alert when Carson City Fire Department personnel arrived. Gunshot wound victims are routinely taken to the trauma ward of Renown Medical Center in Reno.

The incident happened after 7 p.m. in a trailer park in the 2900 block of Airport Road.

The suspect allegedly shot the man in both legs and then called emergency dispatch saying she shot her boyfriend in the legs. She was detained after officers arrived.

The suspect faces a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm.
