The Carson City Board of Supervisors meet today beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Sierra Room of the Carson City Community Center, 851 East William Street. Go here for the agenda and here to watch it live.
Among the discussion and action items, Supervisors will look to appoint members of itself to various boards and committees. Among them are the Regional Transportation Commission and the Carson Metropolitan Planning organization; the Carson City Municipal Golf Corporation; the audit committee; the Nevada Association of Counties and the Western Nevada Legislative Coalition. Supervisors will also look to elect a chair and vice-chair of the Redevelopment Authority.
The Sheriff's Office will look to convert a captain position into two deputy sheriff positions and to create a Supervising Criminalist position with the Jan. 10, 2014 retirement of the sworn senior Forensic specialist.
In the courtroom, Supervisors will review a cost of living adjustment for the Justice of the Peace positions from $115,000 to $125,000; and will review and possibly take action on longevity pay for Judge Thomas R. Armstrong and Judge John Tatro.
Also to be discussed and possible action taken, a $123,600 remodel of a third courtroom located on the third floor of the Carson City Courthouse.
