Carson City Sheriff deputies arrested Terry David Vickers, 45, Thursday evening after a woman reported that he had beat and strangled her into unconsciousness, and assaulted her with a screwdriver.

According to the arrest report, the victim told deputies that Vickers began the assault Wednesday night when he slapped her at a restaurant on North Carson Street. She said after leaving the restaurant she made contact with some friends and left with them, not returning to the motel room she shared with Vickers until Thursday morning.

When she arrived, Vickers then blocked the door with a chair, and the victim said that is when the "ass beating started." Besides being hit and having her hair pulled, she said she remembered being choked by Vickers to the point where she blacked out twice. She also said Vickers held a flathead screwdriver to her neck, jabbing her with it several times, drawing blood.

About six hours later, the victim said she talked Vickers into going out to get some food at F.I.S.H., where she was able to get away and call 911. Deputies later found Vickers hiding in the motel room where the assault allegedly occurred, and recovered a screwdriver with blood on it.

Vickers was arrested for felony domestic battery with substantial bodily harm (strangulation), felony assault with a deadly weapon, felony false imprisonment with a deadly weapon, felony batter with a deadly weapon, and misdemeanor domestic battery, second offense. His bail was set at $35,000.
