A 43-year-old transient from Carmichael, Calif. was arrested for felony possession of marijuana with intent to sell and other charges Friday, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Richard Leroy Hainsey was driving a moped without tail lights at 10:57 p.m. when he approached an oncoming deputy on Airport Road. After conducting a traffic stop and running his name through dispatch, a warrants was discovered and Mr. Hainsey was placed into handcuff’s. According to the arrest report, under an ounce of marijuana, a digital scale, baggies, and other paraphernalia were discovered. His other charges include not having a valid drivers license, tail light out, and the warrant for contempt of court, all misdemeanors. Bail: $6,980.
In other Arrests: A 58-year old Carson City man turned himself in on four warrants listing seven charges of felony embezzlement and one charge of misdemeanor embezzlement.
According to the arrest report, Jeffry Earl Blunder turned himself in at the sheriff’s office on Musser Street at 6:20 a.m. No other details regarding the charges were available. Bail: $57,000.
— A 29-year-old Carson City woman was arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession and other charges after she tried to cut across private property as a short cut Saturday at 1:02 a.m. and was spotted by a sheriff’s deputy in the 3500 block of South Carson Street. Other charges include possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing an officer by giving false information, and criminal contempt. Bail: $5,100.
— A 33-year-old Carson City woman was arrested for misdemeanor domestic battery and obstructing Friday after she refused to let her boyfriend leave their bedroom. The woman was taken into custody at 7:44 a.m in the 1700 block of East Long Street after deputies arrived and the woman became uncooperative by refusing to identify herself and resisting sheriff’s deputies. Bail: $3,300.
— A 23-year-old transient from Kansas City, Kan. was arrested for an outstanding misdemeanor warrant for contempt of court Friday at 3:47 p.m. after he was recognized by sheriff’s deputies in the 500 block of North Carson Street. Bail: $3,000.
— A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Friday for DUI and other misdemeanors after a traffic stop in the 2700 block of Hwy 50 East for running a stop sign on Lompa Lane. The man was taken into custody at 3:57 p.m. for also possessing less than an ounce of marijuana and paraphernalia. Bail: $2,650.
— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested for violating his suspended sentence Friday after the vehicle he was in failed to stop at a stop sign on Lompa Lane and sheriff’s deputies could smell the odor of marijuana coming from the SUV. According to the arrest report, the man admitted that he would be “dirty”, and he was placed into handcuffs at 3:57 p.m. Bail: $1,000.
— a 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested for failure to appear for his alternative sentencing after he tried to cut across private property as short cut Saturday at 1:02 a.m. and was spotted by a sheriff’s deputy in the 3500 block of South Carson Street. Bail: $342.
