Joseph Hayden Valle, 23, of Reno, was arrested early Saturday morning after nearly hitting a deputy’s car while fleeing a parking lot in a stolen vehicle.
According to the arrest report, the officer was on patrol in the 1400 block of East William Street when he noticed a suspicious vehicle. Upon pulling into the parking lot, the suspects fled the scene, nearly striking the deputy’s patrol car. The deputy followed the suspects to an apartment complex at the 900 block of North Saliman Road and saw two people running from the car. Joseph Valle was located by deputies in a nearby park. A K-9 officer searched for the additional suspect, who was not located.
Valle was arrested for felony eluding an officer, felony possession of a stolen vehicle, misdemeanor obstructing an officer, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor criminal contempt. The criminal contempt charge is a warrant out of Reno Township Justice Court and he is being help on no bail.
Other Arrests:
—Carlos “Savage” Contreras, 25, was arrested at 9:30pm near Humbolt and East Long Streets during a traffic stop. Contreras was a passenger in the vehicle, and deputies recognized him as a person with outstanding misdemeanor warrants. Contreras was also being sought in connection with a stolen vehicle case from November 28. He was taken into custody for felony possession of a stolen vehicle, felony possession of a controlled substance, and two misdemeanor warrants. Bail is set at $16,000.
—Pamela Asis, 54, of Carson City, was arrested in the 1800 block of Nichols Lane for a felony warrant issued by Carson City Township for felony child abuse without substantial bodily harm. Asis is being held on $50,000 bail.
—Brenda Sherry Ropchan, 53, of Carson City turned herself into the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Friday on a felony theft warrant from 2010. Her bail is set at $1,000.
—Melissa Luona Carter, a.k.a Melissa Johnson, 34, of Carson City was arrested late Thursday night in the 900 block of South Carson Street for felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor obstructing an officer, misdemeanor criminal contempt, and violating her probation. She is held on $10,000 bail.
—A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 6:01am for two outstanding misdemeanor warrants; violation of suspended sentence and a hit & run property damage. He is being held on $2,000 bail.
—A 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on a warrant issued by Reno Township Justice Court for misdemeanor criminal contempt - buy/use/possession of alcohol by a minor. She is being held on $650 bail.
—A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 7:50pm Thursday evening near Telegraph and Plaza for misdemeanor criminal contempt. The suspect was visibly intoxicated, in violation of a previous alternative sentencing agreement. He is being held on $500 bail.
