A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Saturday morning in the 100 block of Empire Lane on misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery and destruction of property, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area and met with the victim. She said her boyfriend of eight years had grabbed her by her arms and left breast. While holding the woman he allegedly slammed her against her truck.
She told the officer she swung her keys and hit below his right eye in self defense. She dropped her keys and the suspect picked them up and threw them in the parking lot of a casino. She got into her truck and while the driver’s side door was open he was kicking the door and the side of her truck, the arrest report states.
An independent witness saw him kicking the vehicle and intervened. The witness said the woman told him to keep the man away from her. The witness called 911 and the man took off running.
The suspect was detained at his residence by a deputy and refused to fill out a statement. From the investigation it was determined the man was the primary aggressor. He was taken into custody at 2:19 a.m. for domestic battery and destruction of property. Bail: $3,774.
