The Carson City Sheriff's Office reported a handful of arrests over the weekend. Here's a summary of some of those arrested.
A Carson City landscaper, was arrested Saturday on multiple misdemeanor charges, including child endangerment and driving under the influence.
The man was was pulled over by Carson City deputies on March 13, after the arresting officer discovered the driver was not maintaining his lane of travel.
According to the the arrest report, the officer noticed the strong odor of alcohol coming from the man. When questioned, his speech was slurred and raspy, according to the report.
The man agreed to a field sobriety test where two of the four tests he showed signs of impairment, according to the deputy report.
The man submitted to a breath test that showed an alcohol content of 0.16, according to the arrest report. The legal limit is .08. The man was arrested and charged with gross misdemeanor child endangerment, driving under the influence, failure to maintain a single lane and child safety seat violation. The man's bail was set at $3,846.
March 12
A 53-year-old Carson City man was arrested on a charge of making a phony phone call to 911 dispatch. The man allegedly called 911 to report that he had shot his girlfriend with a shotgun. According to the arrest report, several patrol units from throughout Carson City were sent to the address after an alert tone was dispatched on the Carson City sheriff's mobile radio network. The tone is given when it is thought there is a potential life threatening situation.
Upon arrival it was determined that the man possessed no weapon and did not shoot, assault or hurt anyone. When asked why he told dispatchers that he had shot his girlfriend, the man responded by saying "I don't know."
The man was transported to Carson City jail and booked for misuse/abuse of 911 reporting. His bail was set at $2,500.
March 11
A 19-year-old Dayton woman was arrested on several charges including driving under the influence of drugs.
According to a deputy report, the arresting officer was patrolling the area of College Parkway and Goni Road when he noticed that a Chevy Tahoe was heading westbound with the license plate light out.
The officer conducted a traffic stop for the violation and made contact with the driver. The officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle, according to the arrest report.
The woman told the officer that she had smoked pot earlier in the day. The officer asked the woman if he could search the vehicle for drugs and the woman consented.
The officer asked the woman if she had been drinking any alcohol and the woman said she had not, according to the report. The officer noticed the woman smelled of alcohol and had red, watery eyes. The officer asked the woman to submit to a field impairment test. The woman showed six of the six impairment signs in the tests, according to the report. The woman agreed to a preliminary breath test which showed a .099 alcohol concentration, according to the report.
A second officer arrived on the scene and had a canine check the Chevy Tahoe for drugs. The deputy performed the search and informed officers that he had received a positive alert on a Mountain Dew box containing sodas on the passenger floor board and on the center console, according to the report. The officer checked the soda box and discovered a white metal smoking pipe with burned residue. The deputy also checked the console of the vehicle and found marijuana wrapped in plastic. The woman was arrested and booked on several charges including: a license plate light not operating, driving under the influence, possessing less than one ounce of marijuana, and possession of a marijuana pipe. The woman's bail was set at $3,063.
