Carson City Sheriff's arrest log: Deputies make arrests for meth, drunk driving

William Hornback, 45, of Carson City, was arrested by the Tri-County Gang Unit Thursday evening near Carson Meadows and 5th streets. Hornback was apprehended during a traffic stop after being recognized by deputies in a passing vehicle.

According to the arrest report, deputies gave multiple verbal commands with their sidearms drawn and Hornback failed to comply, but he was ultimately forced from his vehicle without further incident. Hornback was arrested for felony contempt of court, felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $11,000.

Other arrests:

-A Carson City man was arrested for multiple misdemeanors Friday afternoon near Roop and John streets after sheriff’s deputies approached his parked car. Upon smelling marijuana and after conducting a field sobriety test, the suspect was placed into custody for DUI (1st), expired registration, and no proof of auto insurance. Bail: $1,125.

-A 31-year-old Carson City man was was arrested for two misdemeanors early this morning at 1:39am in the 3200 block of Market Street. After entering the lanes of oncoming traffic, deputies stopped the vehicle and conducted a field sobriety test. The arrest report cites DUI (1st), and failure to maintain lane. Bail: $1,040.

-A 44-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday evening at her home on the 3600 block of Prospect drive. A witness called deputies and informed them of a suspected drunken driver who was unable to stay in their lane near College Parkway and Research Way. Deputies caught up with the suspected drunken driver at her home, and conducted a field sobriety test after she admitted to driving and claimed to have not taken any alcoholic beverages since arriving there. Bail for her misdemeanor DUI is set at $1,000.
