Carson City voters will go to the polls twice this year to decide who they want representing them for the contested office of sheriff.
With the filing period closed, four are running for city's top law enforcement job. The decision will be narrowed to two in the June 10 primary election. Alphabetically those who have filed are: Ken Furlong, Don Gibson, Daniel Gonzales and Lorne Houle.
In the Nov. 4 general election the contested races are as follows:
Supervisor Ward 1: Karen Abowd and Lisa Helget
Supervisor Ward 3: Lori Bagwell and John McKenna
School Trustee District 1: Jim Bathgate and Ron Swirczek
School Trustee District 3: David W. Carter and Stacie Wilke
School Trustee District 4: Jeffrey P. Cherpeski and Ryan Green
Going uncontested into the June 10 primary are:
Assessor: Dave Dawley
Clerk-Recorder: Sue Merriwether
Treasurer: Al Kramer
School Trustee District 6: Deonne Contine
