For the first time in its two years on air, the Charter TV program "Women to Women with Carol Paz" will switch gears and allow seven local women to interview Carson City's top law enforcement officer.
Sheriff Ken Furlong answered questions recently, with the first of a two-part program airing tonight, 7 p.m. on Charter Media channels 15 (Carson City, Minden-Gardnerville, Dayton) and Channel 3 (Reno, Sparks, Fernley, South Lake Tahoe and Fallon). The program can also be found Friday morning on Carson Now. The second part of the discussion will air April 4, 7 p.m.
Says host and moderator Paz: "Sheriff Kenny Furlong did an outstanding job addressing 7 women who posed some challenging questions from a female point of view."
Those panels were: Martha Coscarat, co-owner of Villa Basque Deli & Cafe; Elizabeth Andrews-Booth, owner of Liz's Biz; Yaraseth Lugo, Director of the Spanish Family Center; Carol Howell, political activist; JoEtta Brown, Douglas County Planning Commission; PJ DeGross, Founder of Web of Support/Military Wives; Pastor Connie Friend of Capital Christian Fellowship. The program sponsors are Carson Nugget and Carson Now.
Women to Women has also launched a contest with the two-part program. Prizes include two Villa Basque Deli and Cafe $25 gift certificates; one Carpa Nevada LLC gift certificate for olive oils or health teas for a value of $30; one $30 gift certificate good for The Steakhouse at the Carson Nugget; three autographed copies of the book "Welcome to Planet Alzheimer's" by Candace Stewart.
